Teas, Teas, Teas – The Differing Kinds of Popular Green Tea Variants
Perhaps you’ve heard and seen enough evidence to convince you about different tea benefits. Maybe you have decided that drinking green tea would help you enhance your quest for a healthier body. Or perhaps you’ve eventually decided to discover whether green tea’s therapeutic properties are right or not. Whatever the truth may be you can not simply pick up any green tea product commercially available and assess whether they do work or if they give good value. As there are numerous teas to choose from, so are there numerous sorts of green tea that are currently available.
Often, all green teas similarly have the strong antioxidant EGCG within. This anti-oxidant is credited as one of the most health encouraging polyphenol that can be commonly found today exceeding others found in different fruit and vegetables. A few people though, particularly the ones that have drunk black tea or other tea variations, may not like the taste or flavor of green tea as much as they'd their previous teas. Because green tea does not go thru much oxidation and fermentation, they keep somewhat a grassy or leafy taste from their natural state. Though not all green tea taste the same, some have sweeter taste, while others have milder flavours and richness. If you find one green tea to be not of your liking, then you need to try the varied other kinds of green tea and discover which one is best suited to your taste.
The majority of the top green teas that are generally available today either come from China or Japan. And when it comes to Japanese green tea, no other green teas embody the Japanese culture than the Matcha green tea. Left with the skilled care and patient attention in details that the Japanese is known for, the Matcha green tea variety undergoes a stringent and delicate growing process which involves growing the tea plant in shades and stopping direct sunlight from reaching it even in the processing stage. Only the very finest tea leaves are harvested to make Matcha green tea and they endure a meticulous grinding process employing a stone grinder. The end result is a sweet tasting green tea that is commonly used for tea ceremonies in Japan and is a favored flavour for many puddings.
In China, no other green tea commands renown and exudes quality than the Longjing tea. Can be referred to as Long Jing or Lung Ching, this green tea is one of the most popular green teas in the planet today and for the western society it's also ordinarily referred to as Dragon Well. A premium green tea variant, it is costlier than most green teas because of its excellence as China’s highest grade quality green tea. Longjing has the highest concentration of catechins among every other Chinese green tea and has a rich flavour with a delicate aroma. Many imitations abound the market with this variety so you must be careful in choosing which one to purchase.
As Longjing is in China, so is Sencha in Japan. It is the preferred variation of green tea in Japan and around 80 p.c of all green tea produced in the country is Sencha. The flavor, colour, and scent of Sencha will change dependent on the area where the tea is grown and the season it was harvested. Sometimes, Sencha has a tinge of sweet flavor but retains some vegetal taste to it.
Another alternative belonging to the list of China’s famous green teas is Bi Luo Chun or Pi Lo Chun. Translating literally to Green Snail Spring, this green tea alternative is rolled and packed firmly into a spiral shape. Sumptuously fragrant with a remarkable fruity flavor, Bi Luo Chun is regarded as one of the most unique and rare green teas produced in China. The best crops of this sort of green tea are the ones that are grown from Dong Shan, they're also cultivated in the Sichuan and Zhejiang provinces but they are alleged to have a definite nutty flavor rather than the fruity taste that it is usually known for.
All these types of green tea have different quality grades. Their prices and taste may alter with each grade. It is best to find out more about their natural traits before purchasing them not just to ensure that you are paying for the right price, but also to make sure that your getting the real product.
