Is this okay for what i've eaten so far today?
BREAKFAST
1/2 c all bran
3/4 c organic milk
2 T ovaltine (40 cal)
1 c coffee with 1 T creamer (30)
LUNCH
1 prepared package of carrots and lite dip (80 cal)
1 peach
1 container lite yogurt
SNACK
veggies and homemade dill dip with fat free sour cream
1/3 c zuchinni casserole
30 small chocolate chips (70 calories)
That's all I've had so far today. The chocolate chips are just for my daily one serving of junk food so I don't feel deprived.
Yeah. but I think you should eat less, because a Yogurt and a Peach AND Carrots is a little much, however it is healthy and I'm not a doctor so I may not be correct if it's too much, just my thoughts, good job though
hmmm… its a bit small. unless your trying to lose weight. but it doesnt sound like you've even eaten 1000 kcal there so its still a bit low…
but then again. if you are trying to lose weight you'll lose like 2 lbs a week doing this!
It's a good amount. You could probably put more grains in there. It's nice to know that you are not a meat lover, not caring if animals are killed.
As you starve yourself (limit calories greatly) you put your body into a defensive action of lowering your metabolism. when your body does this, it burns less and less fat – as when it is in starvation mode. Hence, you burn less fat and you also burn your muscle which is not good. it is recommended that you know your body weight and height, and use a calorie calculator (they are on the web) and figure out what your body needs to hold its own weight wise in calories per day. once you know this, you can reduce your daily calories, combined with the amount of exercise you perform each day, and pursue a dietary intake for loose approx. 1-2.5 lbs a week – which is slow, yes, but history/stats have shown that people will keep this amount off as opposed to unreasonable diets that they will not keep up with in a lifestyle change for the rest of their life. so, if you need, say 1550 calories a day to maintain your weight, you might want to drop to 1250 calories a day plus add some exercise that would burn an additional 250 calories a day and loose about 2 lbs a week. If you add the appropriate cardio and weight-tone exercises daily, you will also add more muscle which will tone you up (take off inches) more quickly. it is suggested that one follow a high protein/low carb diet that includes the appropriate amount of protein, fruits/veggies/dairy and carbs. these too can be found on the web or from you doctor. plus, you will have great skin and skin tone and nice shiny hair as well!

How to fix a diet like this?
So, I’ve recently become vegetarian (hoping to become vegan soon), and I was wondering how I could fix my diet:
Breakfast: Coffee (and sometimes a vegan cereal) (Nature’s Path Organic Hemp Plus Granola)
Lunch: Whatever we have in the caf, which is usually some kind of pasta or something, chips, a cookie and water.
Snack: coffee and something sweet
Dinner: some veggie and rice thing.
Also, I’m very picky.

What’s in the Box
50 count K-cups
So far YTD I've spent over 10% of my disposable income on fast food, is that an epic fail or what?
Just got done with my October spreadsheet, fast food is officially over 10% while "groceries" comes in at a modest 7.6%. The ff fund also tracks alcohol, but I only usually drink maybe once a week anyway so the actual number isn’t significant.
The problem for me is convenience, during work days it’s usually common to get at least one thing (coffee, lunch, snack, gas station drink) while out. Maybe it’s time to stick with the ugly, brown and gray packed lunches again.
One of my goals in the next 2 years is to save as much as humanly possible for a down payment on a house. I track every penny now and it’s the kind of tracking that made me pay back a K student loan without a dime in interest. What’s the best way to wean yourself off of food corporations that exploit the "drive-thu"? I have extremely fast metabolism so I can easily eat 2.5k calories a day and never see a pound unfortunately. I buy mostly organic at the store so that’s why there’s a high percentage of the cost as well. I fear that if I eat 100% grocery, the savings isn’t going to lower by much, however I may be eating more healthy.

How to ask my doctor for social anxiety disorder medications?
So I saw my doctor today after dodging her for 2 years for a check up. I brought up my school thought I had social anxiety disorder.I told her how every night I would get bad stomach pains if I had to meet with large groups of people and at school I would get sick to my stomach when having to go I would throw up. I told her I had switched to online schools. I’m on the honor roll now – my grades were failing before I would skip school just so I did not see all the people. She asked me about my sleeping habits I told her I stay up till 5 am and wake up at 12 pm. I also told her I eat 1 sometimes 2 meals a day. This is what she has me doing…….
Eating habits
-Eat in the morning at least an apple
-Lunch
-snack
-dinner
for my sleeping this is what she told me to do.
Only drink 4 cups of coffee a day and not past 3 pm
no drinking pop past 3 pm
Take melatonin (over the counter sleeping meds) at 10pm
write in a journal in the morning and night time
don’t watch tv or computer an hour before bed
lay down at 11:30 pm wake up at 9 am.
She wants me to see a therapist- im not ready to see a therapist at this time. I’m going to try this for a a month to see how its working but so far no difference at all. How do I tell her I think medications might help with the support of my family. What medications work for people. I’m not a big pill person I am more of an organic person but I would like to try medications out.

New Vegetarian – Am I getting enough of everything?
Just been doing this a week and wanted to know if my diet seems ok. Here is yesterday – pretty typical of what I’m eating so far:
Breakfast – Coffee w/ Silk, banana, apple w/ peanut butter
Lunch – MorningStar ‘beef’ patty on multi-grain bread w/ lettuce and tomatoes and a few fritos.
Snack – A handful of mixed roasted nuts and about 5 baby carrots.
Dinner – Baked potato w/ organic butter, asparagus, and 2 southwestern veggie patties.
Is this pretty balanced? Thanks for your input!
